The campus is 180 acres in size. It is accessible from United States Route 1 and Interstate 95. Parking is plentiful. Nearby, a RIPTA bus will take you to the campus, where you can find many affordable parking lots. If you’re a student, there are plenty of ways to commute to class. It’s not always convenient to drive to campus, but the Hill Climber will save you time! It’s free for URI students, and it runs every 11 minutes.
Former URI athletes include Chester Jaworski, who led the country in scoring during his senior year and won the national player of the year award. Other notable alumni include Tom Penders, a former college basketball coach, and Geoff Cameron, a member of the MLS team in 2009 and 2011. Hachiko: A Dog’s Story, starring Lamar Odom, was filmed in Green Hall and Edwards Auditorium.
